Gul Ahmed Textile Mills Limited was incorporated as a privately held company in 1953 and later converted into a public limited company on January 7, 1955. In 1970, the company was listed on the Karachi Stock Exchange (now the Pakistan Stock Exchange), establishing its position as one of the country’s leading textile enterprises.

The retail chain offers an extensive range of products, including home textiles and furnishings for the bedroom, kitchen, and bathroom, along with ready-to-wear apparel for men and women. The brand also provides value-added services such as in-house monogramming, embroidery, and tailor-made solutions.

In 2025, Ideas by Gul Ahmed further strengthened its retail presence by inaugurating its largest flagship store and introducing the Ideas Café concept within Dolmen Mall Clifton, Karachi—creating an innovative blend of shopping and lifestyle experience.
